Onam
The Onam celebration at Mathrumadom Ashramam was filled with joy, devotion, and togetherness. The day began with traditional prayers and the decoration of a beautiful floral carpet (pookkalam) at the entrance, symbolizing prosperity and harmony. Residents of the ashram, along with visitors, came together to prepare the grand Onam Sadhya, a feast served on banana leaves with a variety of dishes. The atmosphere was vibrant with cultural programs including traditional songs, dance, and games that reflected Kerala’s rich heritage. The spirit of Onam was truly alive as everyone, regardless of age, participated with happiness, reminding us of the values of unity, equality, and sharing.
